Off to the Expo

It's finally time to go to the Scrapbook Expo that the girls and I have been working so hard on. I'll be leaving shortly to go set up the booth in St. Charles and then it's off for a margarita before everything officially starts tomorrow.

If you're in the Chicago area, stop by and visit and check out all the different items we'll have on display using current Angel Company stamps, and participate in our make and take. We'll also be having a lollipop pull for prizes. You can get a free pull for placing an order of $30 or more, or you can purchase a chance for $2. We've got some really great stuff in our prize coffers this year, including a Scor-Pal, Sizzix dies, craft books, card packs, decorative scissors and punches, and of course stamps. We're also offering two great classes, one on each day, and last I knew there were a couple of spaces left.

Wish me luck! Hopefully I'll do at least well enough to justify the purchase of another set of Copic markers. I've been holding off on getting another set for a year and it's killing me!

DIA Project #4 - Geri's Kaleidoscope Card

This was another neat project our DIA group did in July. Geri brought us this cool kaleidoscope card that has lots of depth to it. It's very similar to a star book where you open it up and the tension from several slightly shorter layers makes you look into the center of the card. In other words, it has a telescopic effect. The sun is a bit strong in these pictures, so some of the detail is washed out. But hopefully you get the idea.

An Old Favorite

I've been getting ready for the Mokena Farm and Barn Festival and just cranking out cards. Since speed is more the essence here, I haven't been spending the time to come up with new things, just making copies of things I've done in the past. I found this card in my archives that I had forgotten about, but which had been one of my favorites. I hope you like it.

DIA Project #3 - Rita's Card Folio

It's time for a look at another awesome project from the DIA girls. This week's edition is a note card folio created by Rita. We did these neat little note card holders, complete with dividers, from green and beige paper, and scraps from the Angelee collection. We also made some little note cards to fit inside. (My note cards are not my best work, but you get the idea)

Pumpkins Prefer Penelope

O.K. So my titles suffer from alliteration tonight. Must be the mood of the day.

Here is the second of the two pages I made for Dawnmarie's Penelope board. The inspiration came from a card sketch I saw on a blog somewhere and drew on a post-it note a while back ago, but it easily converted to a scrapbook layout.

The photo is of my niece from our family's annual pumpkin hunt last year. My niece is soooo like my sister was when we were the ones hunting for the pumpkins; very competitive and very proud of her accomplishments. Watching her in the thick of the hunt with my cousin's children was a trip down memory lane.

Penelope Pretties-up Poo Crew

I'm finished making all the cards for my Angelee board for the upcoming St. Charles Scrapbook Expo. There are several, some of which you've already seen here, but there have to be some surprises for those of you that are coming to visit the booth, so I won't post the rest until later.

However, when I went to make my scrapbook pages, I couldn't find any pictures that would go well with the paper I was working with. So my friend Dawnmarie said she would make me a deal. She would make the two pages for my Angelee board if I would make the two pages for her Penelope board. Penelope is a wonderful jewel tone paper collection that is perfect for showcasing fall pictures. I have lots of fall pictures, so I snapped up that deal in a second.

One of the pictures I have is of my friend Jennie and her family volunteering for "poo crew" for the Thanksgiving Day Parade last year. They've been volunteering for several years trying to work their way up to being balloon-wranglers. This picture was taken by the local newspaper and posted on their website.

I thought this layout was fitting because Dawnmarie challenged our stamp team with this sketch that was posted on Split Coast Stampers. What better way to meet a challenge than to make something for the person that issued it?

DIA Project #2 - Teri's Purse Scrapbook

Here is another project I did with the DIA girls. It's a purse scrapbook that Teri put together for us.



Mine uses The Angel Company's Willoughby paper collection, but some of the other ladies used a different collection.
